One of my favorite songs is "In Christ Alone." I love to hear Big Sister play it on the piano, and it is so sweet to hear Middle Sister singing the words while she empties the dishwasher.
"In Christ alone my hope is found; He is my light, my strength, my song.
This Cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are still, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All; here in the love of Christ I stand!"
It is through Him and Him alone where we find our hope.
We have no hope of salvation without Him.
We have no hope of sanctification without Him.
We have no hope of grace without Him. We have no hope of peace without Him.
It is in Christ. Alone.
But think of what He can do in you and through you. Look at what He is already accomplishing.
The Pharisees wanted signs and wonders.
"Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them and said, 'The kingdom of God does not come with observation, nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you'" (Luke 17:20-21).
Yet, the signs and wonders seem, more often than not, the miraculous work God is doing within you and me.
How awesome to see God rule in the life of a Believer through faith in Christ.
"No gult in life, no fear in death; this is the power of Christ in me.
From life's first cry, to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns, or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I'll stand!"
